Mission

Inkblot Theater Co. is committed to interrogating classic plays and literature and placing them in a contemporary landscape. We seek to reimagine the familiar while investigating what has kept these stories relevant for hundreds of years. Through innovative performance, we foster curiosity and creative thinking in our audiences and the next generation of artists.

Our Team

Emily Jackoway (Co-Founder) is an actor and teaching artist based in New York. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, she has worked extensively with regional theater companies such as Metro Theater Company and St. Louis Shakespeare. She is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and holds a BFA in Drama and a BA in English Literature. Most recently, she founded a weekly Shakespeare reading series, "Shakespeare Unmuted," devoted to the virtual, collective performance of all 38 of Shakespeare's plays. Emily also teaches dance and theater to children from babyhood through middle school. Recent: The Medea of Euripides, Theater for a New City; Measure for Measure, The Classical Studio. Elizabeth Robbins (Co-Founder) is a New York based actor, writer, and educator. A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, she has worked with theaters in New York and her home state of Wisconsin, including Bedlam, First Stage Children's Theater, Playwrights Horizons Theater School, Children's Theater of Madison, and The Experimental Theater Wing, where her original play Blue Moon was produced in 2019. In 2020, she ran "Classics in Quarantine," a series of virtual play readings performed by actors in lockdown exploring stage/radio adaptations of classic literature. Her work can also be seen in the upcoming film series from Floating Home Productions.
